Question (8): Three sets of experiment are carried out to determine the factors that affect the rate of reaction. Table 4 shows the reactants and time taken to collect 40 cm^3 of gas for Set I, Set II and Set III.

Tiga set eksperimen dijalankan untuk menentukan factor yang mempengaruhi kadar tindak balas. Jadual4 menunjukkan bahan tindak balas dan masa yang diambil untuk mengumpal 40cm^3 gas bagi Set I, Set II dan Set III.

 

Based on Table 4,

Berdasarkan Jadual 4,

(a) Sketch the graph of volume of gas against time for set I, Set II and Set III on the same axes.

Lakarkan graf isi padu gas melawan masa bagi Set I, Set II dan Set III pada paksi yang sama.

 

(b) Write a chemical equation for the reaction and compare the actual volume of gas released in Set I and Set II. Your answer should be supported with calculation.

(Given that the molar volume of any gas occupies 24 dm^3 at room condition)

 

Tulis persamaan kimia bagi tindak balas itu dan bandingkan isi padu sebenar gas yang terbebas dalam Set I dan Set II. Jawapan anda hendaklah disokong dengan pengiraan.

(Diberi isi padu molar sebarang gas memenuhi 24 dm^3 pada keadaan bilik)

 

(c) Compare the rate of reaction between sets of experiment and explain your answer based on collision theory:
